Addie has a really large tummy and for the past 2 weeks she has been vomiting every night. I took Addie into the Dr. and the Dr. sent me to get and X-Ray of her belly. When the results came back I was told that it was just gas. As a mother, I knew something else was wrong.
On Tuesday morning I took Addie to the ER in Turlock and was there from 8:15 to 4:30. We took an X-Ray of her belly again and the Dr. could not figure out what was wrong. He sent us to the Children's hospital in Madera and we did a CT scan and more X-Rays. It turned out that Addie has an Intussusception. Pretty much her small intestine was stuck inside of her large intestine. They tried to give her an enema and use pressure to release the intestine but it did not work.
To make a really long story short, Addie had to get surgery done to get the intestine unstuck. Luckily the surgeon was able to just make 3 small incisions on her belly and was able to release the small intestine by looking through a camera and using his tools.
Addie's belly is still pretty big. Each Dr. that I talked to told me that is can happen again. It is so hard to see your baby go through all the pain. Addie is such a trooper. She went through 4 days of waiting in ER rooms, going through X-Rays, CT scans, ultra sounds, getting poked for blood, getting poked for IVs, not being able to find the vein for the IVs, heart rate dropping, low blood pressure and low body temperature.
I am just glad that Addie is home and with me. She is still having trouble walking and getting around but she is getting better each day.

Sorry to hear about all of this. We hope and pray that she is felling better each day. I know what you are going through. Things like this are never easy. Way to stick with your intuition. I have had to be demanding, rude, etc., you name it to get help for the girls as well. After all mothers know best:)
